Who you are dealing with
Just a Pause is made and published by Adrian Viziteu in Romania. Licences are sold by Polar Software Inc. as merchant of record, so your purchase contract for the payment itself is with Polar, and Polar’s terms apply to the transaction, the invoice and the tax.
What you are buying
A licence costs $9.99 USD, once. It is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Just a Pause on the Macs you own or control, at work or at home, for as long as the app runs on them. There is no subscription and no renewal.
The app is licensed, not sold. You may not resell it, redistribute it, or pass your licence key to other people. A key that is published or shared can be revoked.
There is no free trial. The installer is made available after Polar confirms the purchase, and the app requires the licence key issued for that purchase before its break schedule can run.
Your licence key
Polar emails your key after checkout, and the app activates it through Polar. Keep it as you would a password. If you lose it, write to adrianviziteu@gmail.com from the address you bought with and it will be sent to you again.
Updates
Updates are included while they are offered, and the app can install them itself. That is a promise of goodwill, not of eternity: a future macOS may break something, and a large new version may one day be priced separately. Nothing here obliges Adrian Viziteu to keep publishing updates forever, and the app you have keeps working either way.
What Just a Pause is not
It is a reminder to rest your eyes and stand up. It is not a medical device, not a diagnosis, and not health advice. If you have symptoms — eye strain, headaches, pain from repetitive work — please talk to a doctor rather than to a timer.
Requirements and availability
Just a Pause needs macOS 14 or later on Apple silicon. The website, the download and the licence service are provided as they are, and may occasionally be down for maintenance or for reasons upstream, such as GitHub or Polar being unavailable.
Refunds
A refund policy is available if a purchase turns out to be wrong for you.
Liability
The app is provided without warranties beyond those the law gives you and cannot be disclaimed. To the extent the law allows, the total liability of Adrian Viziteu for anything connected to Just a Pause is limited to what you paid for your licence. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by this paragraph.
Ending the licence
You can stop using Just a Pause at any time by deleting it. A licence may be revoked if it is shared publicly, obtained fraudulently, or charged back after a completed refund. This does not affect licences held by other customers.
Changes and law
If these terms change, the date at the top of the page changes with them, and a change never applies retroactively to a purchase already made. The terms are governed by the laws of Romania, and nothing in them takes away a mandatory right you have as a consumer where you live.
