1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Adrian Viziteu, an independent developer based in Romania(“we”, “us”). They cover the Just a Pause app for macOS (the “App”) and this website. By buying, downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
2. What you get
When you buy Just a Pause, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the App on Macs that you own or control, for your own use. You are buying a licence to use the App, not the App itself. We keep all rights we don't expressly give you.
Your licence comes as a licence key. Each key can be active on the number of Macs included in the plan you bought. To move it to another Mac, deactivate it in the App or in your customer portal. Keep your key private: you are responsible for activations made with it.
3. Requirements
The App needs:
- a Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later;
- AirPods with head tracking: AirPods Pro (any generation), AirPods Max, AirPods 3, AirPods 4, AirPods Max 2 or AirPods 5. AirPods 1, AirPods 2 and other headphones are not supported;
- permission for the App to access motion data.
Please check that your setup is supported before you buy.
4. Price and payment
Just a Pause is a one-time payment in USD: $4.99 for 1 Mac, $7.99 for 2 Macs, $9.99 for 3 Macs. There is no subscription and no free trial. Taxes such as VAT may be added depending on where you live. Payments are processed by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as our merchant of record. Their terms also apply to your purchase.
5. Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason. See our Refund Policy for how it works. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer law.
6. Updates
Your purchase includes updates we release for the App, at no extra cost. The App checks for updates automatically, and you can turn this off. We may change, improve or remove features over time, and we are not obliged to keep releasing updates forever.
7. What you may not do
- Share, sell, rent or redistribute the App or your licence.
- Copy, modify, decompile or reverse engineer the App, except where the law allows it.
- Remove any copyright or ownership notices.
- Use the App in a way that breaks the law.
8. How the App works, and its limits
The App estimates where you are looking from your AirPods' head-motion sensors. This is a convenience feature, not a security product. It may not detect every time you look away, it may sometimes blur when you are still looking, and it depends on your AirPods being connected and calibrated.
Please don't rely on the App alone to protect sensitive or confidential information. Lock your Mac when you step away.
9. Privacy
Head motion is processed on your Mac and never leaves it. Read our Privacy Policy to learn how we handle personal data.
10. Warranty
We work hard to make the App reliable, but it is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties beyond those stated in these terms. If you are a consumer, you keep the legal guarantees that apply where you live, including the right to a working product.
11. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost data, profits or business, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the App. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Ending this agreement
You can stop using the App at any time by deleting it. If you seriously break these terms, we may end your licence. If that happens, you must stop using the App and delete it.
13. Apple
AirPods, Mac and macOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. Just a Pause is an independent app and is not made, sponsored or endorsed by Apple.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the new version here and change the date at the top. Changes won't take away rights you already have for a purchase you made before the change.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Romania. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.
